Ed Henschied was born in Iowa in 1953. He received Christ when he was about 17 and started writing songs that were shaped into a variety of Christian themes. He married his wife in 1982. In 1984 they traveled to Eastern Europe on a short -term mission delivering Bibles to oppressed countries. In 1985. They moved to Georgia where Ed attended Toccoa Falls college in Toccoa , Georgia and graduated with a B.A. in Music Composition in 1989. During this time he had numerous opportunities to use music at local churches , as well as alcoholics and and to prisoners. The following year he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. There he belonged to the Evangelistic Club, where he gained valuable preaching experience. They moved back to Iowa in 1990 where they raised their two children. Since then Ed has ministered to juvenile delinquents and prisoners through out Eastern Iowa. He received the Governor Volunteer Award in 1998 and also in 2001 and was instrumental developing a prison ministry at a local church.
